Great job for those of you who looked into and thought about galaxies and solar systems. I hope you all realize how small each of us really are. Most important is that no matter how small we are, each one of us has a huge impact on the world and people around us. As our earth rotates and days and nights go by, I have gotten to see all of you learn some pretty neat things. You all also teach me every day too. If it wasn't for your questions in class and here, I may not have spent some of my time thinking about lots of things, from black holes to what would be a better way of keeping students' folders organized. You are all great. Thanks for teaching me and making me want to learn more. Now, for a little challenge.... Blog me back after you find out about how our planet's revolution around the sun has anything to do with leap years????

Is the milkyway a part of the galaxy is it the galaxy is it just a group of stars.Ok if the sun is that small to other suns and because the earth is that small against the galaxy being big are some galaxys smaller then the largest suns.Rotate and revolve because we revolve aroundthe sun and rotate if dontrevolve will we still rotate.Answer back i'll see you tommarro!!!

does the axis go through the earth like the equator and just have the ends stick out so it can rotate better?

4. JacP - Tue Jan 29, 2008 @ 05:51PM

hi i just found that a cosmic finger is pulling 3 galexcies to gether and the finger hooked on to one of saturns rings!!

7. KelseyH - Tue Feb 05, 2008 @ 02:05PM

the earths rotation does have to do with a leap year. It has to make up for the earths slow rotation.

Hi again,I was wondering, since we and the other planets revolve around the sun, does the dun revolve around the bigger suns???? answer back please. Here r 2 websites i found www.planetquest.jpl.nasa.gov and www.nasa.gov/home/index.html

**I AM PRETTY SURE OUR SUN REVOLVES WITH THE REST OF THE BILLION STARS IN OUR GALAXY AROUND A BLACK HOLE...

9. JacP - Sat Feb 09, 2008 @ 04:19PM

if the moon was part of the earth that wound make it a oval. that wound make the earth not a planet, right

***IT WAS STILL A SPHERE. DOES A PLANET HAVE TO BE A SPHERE?

10. Gonnie - Tue Feb 12, 2008 @ 08:31AM

Hey, it's me Gonnie and I figured I should blog you peop's. I guess the Sun has to do with leap year, or leap day,WATHEVER! because of day and night and revoling and stuff.

***GONNIE-- DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR NOT TOO SURE ABOUT STUFF?

11. JacP) - Tue Feb 12, 2008 @ 06:58PM

Hey Mrs.Phillips When a star explodes does all ofit's parts go flying every where and thats where we get shooting stars?

NICE JOB! EXPLODING STARS ARE CALLED SUPERNOVAS. LOOK INTO THEM. THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF THINGS/DEBRIS FLOATING IN SPACE. WHERE DO YOU THINK THEY ALL COME FROM.

16. daniel - Thu Feb 21, 2008 @ 10:20AM
